We will talk about how this works and demonstrate how we have been doing this in the local schools. And we would also talk about what parents should understand and act in related to their kid's problem of playing too much video games.

The "Video Game Making Course" is an all-rounded mixed-subject educational programme developed specifically for local primary and secondary school students. Hong Kong teachers and parents are all worried that their kids are claimed to be video game addicts, but not many people realize the fact that video games can actually be educational. Game players are learning different kinds of knowledge and skills through playing and creating video games.
In this programme, students would learn about the basic concepts of game design, game development and create their first video game with the help of a user friendly game development tool. Upon finishing the programme, students will acquire game development techniques as well as generic skills such as creativity, independent thinking, problem solving and collaboration skills, etc.
The programme can be held specifically for game development. We may also organize the programme for a specific subject matter. With pre-designed course outline, students would learn the assigned English and Maths knowledge (area, volume, coordinates, writing skills, presentation skills etc) through designing and developing their games.
